Simple Woman’s Daybook
FOR TODAY
Outside my window… Clouds! Maybe they’ll decide to rain? Doubt it, but there’s clouds!
I am thinking… About shopping this morning.
I am thankful for…God’s Salvation given through His Son Jesus Christ and that once it is preached to all people groups the really exciting stuff starts.
From the learning rooms… It’s holidays!
From the kitchen…The stove ran out of gas last night. I thought I could smell gas the past few weeks. It ran out way faster than it should so I’m going to be making stove free meals using the slow cooker, microwave, oven, breadmaker, steamer and cafe grill!
I am wearing…PJ’s still, I need a shower before going out.
I am creating… Still creating the grey something, possibly a wrap for myself or someone else. I had a hiccup with the brown and cream poncho but will be starting it again soon and I have started joining the squares together that a lady at churchgave me. She likes to knit them and I don’t mind joining them.
I am going…to enjoy this cooler weather, go shopping and get the stuff needed for the week and then work out if I can get any washing done, hopefully not! I really want it to rain.
I am reading…I finished Julie and Julia. It wasn’t that good. I should learn and just not read non-christian books. They’re so disappointing and have no Life in them. I’ll be going back to Extraordinary by John Bevere and the book of Psalms.
I am hoping…for rain
I am hearing…traffic in the distance, the girls watching kids tv and a soft rustle of trees in the SW breeze (PLEASE RAIN!)
Around the house…I’m not planning anything different. Just the usual decluttering and cleaning.
One of my favorite things…Good food. I ran out of my soymilk yesterday and had normal milk in my coffee this morning, my mouth feels all tingly and burny now, I’m looking forward to food that is good fo rme.
A few plans for the rest of the week: I’m going to do a trial run of hot crossed buns in my new breadmaker (new compared to last Easter). I also am going to give Vegetarian Chili a go in my Slow Cooker. Apart from that, nothing new.A picture for today…”Polar Bear”

Simple Woman’s Daybook
FOR TODAY
Outside my window… Red-tailed black cockatoos squawking and eating the nuts off the Moreton Bay Fig Tree that hangs over from next doors backyard. And two incredibly beautiful Monach butterflies frolicking on the cool autumn breeze.
I am thinking… Getting more wholefoods into my diet.
I am thankful for…God’s gifts that surround me daily.
From the learning rooms… The girls and I went to the library the yesterday because that wanted to get some books out on certain topics. Tash’s is butterflies/insects and Liv’s was Australian History, she also got some info on specifications of staircases as she’s in a house designing mood at the moment (mainly tiny houses.)
From the kitchen…I will be warming up the coffee machine for “morning tea” for the first time since Christmas I think and having home-made cuppacino/lattes.
Lunch will be banana smoothies and peanut butter sandwiches. This won’t last as Australia has a serious shortage of bananas after Cyclones, floods and locusts.
Dinner will be Pasta and Garlic bread using the leftover Ratatouille from last night as the sauce. I will also be baking a cake to use up the almond meal from the milk I’ve made.
I am wearing…Trackies and a jumper! It was very cold this morning and isn’t expected to get very warm at all.
I am creating…several things. A grey something, possibly a wrap for myself or someone else. A brown and cream poncho and I was given some squares to join together by a lovely lady at church. She likes to knit them and I don’t mind joining them.
I am going…to go to the shops to get the dog food I forgot yesterday. May grab the ingredients for Sweet Potato Hummus as well.
I am reading…Julie and Julia. I picked it up yesterday at the library, didn’t realise it was a true (ish) story and I’m also reading Windows on the World of Jesus by Bruce Malina, an interesting book about the cultural difference between Jesus’ time and modern America.
I am hoping…for more rain soon after our 3.4mm yesterday.
I am hearing…The red-tailed cockatoos squawking, the girls moving “quietly” through the house on some urgent mission…oh there is the sound of the tape-measure, Liv must be planning something for her design, the tap of Dave working on his assignment at the laptop at the other end of the desk.
Around the house…I am working on decluttering the bedroom so we can fit a very small workspace for private, quiet study. I’m also planning on some giant cookies and some more almond milk. I need to do the floors and other general cleaning.
One of my favorite things…Sunshine with cold wind, which we have today. Love it.
A few plans for the rest of the week: Its nearly the end of term so a new homeschool book order will be needed. I think I need to get some more animal flea treatment from the vet. I need to drop off the many bags of clothes Tash got out of her room when we sorted out the small stuff last week. I will also be doing the sweet potato hummus for lunch. Start planning our Easter menu!A picture for today…”Tabby Meow”

This is our stray that came to stay with us for 10 months before passing away from complications from lymphoma.

Simple Woman’s Daybook
FOR TODAY
Outside my window… Cloudy skies, bare Moreton Bay Fig branches and Quongdong tree leaves swaying in the cold southerly wind blowing.
I am thinking… Of half of my family down in Perth (Hubby and oldest daughter)
I am thankful for…God’s mercy. It covers so much.
From the learning rooms… School will start back Monday (from our 2 week holidays). We may start Tues if Dave and Liv come back Sunday.
From the kitchen…I will be warming up the coffee machine for “morning tea” and having a home-made cuppacino/latte.
Lunch will be banana toasties (too many bananas and not enough people – a favourite meal for me!)
Dinner will be Vegie Delight Sausages, Mashed Potato, Peas, Corn on the cob and broad beans
I am wearing…Pj’s still! It is holidays.
I am creating…A dark green knitted vest for Dave. My f’irst attempt at knitting a piece of clothing. (I always have a crochet blanket on the go, it wouldn’t be right otherwise!)
I am going…to take youngest daughter to the bakery today to remedy the uneveness of donuts (Dave and Liv had some yesterday!)
I am reading…another Di Morrissey book but her style is so samey so I may jump over to the new Left Behind prequels I recently purchased.
I am hoping…Dave and Liv have a good time down in Perth and a safe drive home today/Sunday
I am hearing…Some inane tv show on foxtel that Tash is watching and the happy twittering of little birds outside (after the nice rain the otherday)
Around the house…I’m planning on vacuuming today and maybe sneaking into Liv’s room while she’s away and tidying up a little. I need to tidy the house up in general and also want to get to the pile of craft stuff in my bedroom that needs a new home (probably back out in the caravan).
One of my favorite things…Quiet, which I had for a while this morning (until Oscar started meowing after breakfast).
A few plans for the rest of the week: I will be sorting through the girls books to see if any are nearly finished and warrants an order. Planning on finishing my tension square and starting the vest.
Need to go to the vet for Billy’s special bits.
Buy some more firewood.http://thesimplewomansdaybook.blogspot.com/
I appologise for the lack of pics in this post – I can’t seem to upload at the moment…
